I’m an award-winning independent filmmaker and photographer who believes in the power of visual storytelling to amplify the stories of people who cannot tell them on their own.
My work has brought experience of filming and photographing in 37 countries, with a focus on culturally and/or gender sensitive subjects in low-resource settings including conflict zones. Working with a range of budgets, I am experienced in writing, producing, directing, shooting, editing and managing post-production freelancers.
With over 10 years experience in the industry, I have worked on over a dozen television shows (Ugly Betty, Royal Pains, Nurse Jackie, The Blacklist, House of Cards) and feature films (Argo, We Need To Talk About Kevin) as a camera assistant and operator. I have been a member of the International Cinematographer's Guild since 2007.
My production company ‘colLABorate: ideas and images’ has produced short and long format content:
► Multi award-winning feature documentary film based on Atul Gawande’s best-selling book, ‘The Checklist Effect’ internationally distributed by TVF International
► Award-winning short film, ‘Six Year Old Fears’ broadcasted on BBC Arabic as part of the BBC Arabic Film Festival 2018
► ‘Shanti Khana,’ a documentary narrated by Ashley Judd premiering at the Global Health Film Festival 2018

► A feature film ‘Apartment Troubles’ starring Megan Mullally, Jefferey Tambor, and Will Forte
►11 episode documentary mini series ‘The World Cup Project’, self-funded and independently produced shot each in a different country
► Short advocacy films which have been broadcast on SKY News, CNN and used online by the Associated Press
► Still photographs published by TIME Magazine and the Mail Online
I am also a member of the Royal Society of Arts, the Royal Society of Public Health, Frontline Club, and Chatham House and can draw on a range of experiences whenever I speak at film festivals and public events.
